Kroppr - image cropper script - V1.4 - January 28, 2009 release
This script is intended to help webmasters allow their users to manipulate the images available on the site.
What can you do with this script:- Rotate the image.
- Resize the image.
- Crop the image.
- Save it to your hard drive.
There are plenty of online image cropping scripts that are used on sites to create avatars, to scale , to crop images, for photo resize and photo crop - but Kroppr offers image rotation as well, without any plugin (flash or java).
The installation is very easy and the changes needed to an existent and already launched site are minimal - from the design point of view there is no difference.
The script is adapting itself to the image size - if the image is a small thumbnail that links to a bigger image, the last one is actually cropped, so the quality of the result will be very good.
Kroppr is using the graphic tools found on a common hosting server so an expensive server is not required for this script to run. In the same time, if there are more choices on the server, Kroppr is choosing the one with the best results in quality and server load.
The realtime operations - rotate or zoom - will enhance the user experience because only one operation - the final crop - is sent to the server. This way we minimize the time that user needs to see the result while minimizing the server load.
